Default Straight 6 problem

Hey guys, my car(65 straight 6) has just started getting this problem, whenever I stop at a stop sign, and then push the gas, the engine just cuts off, this only happens every like 3 stop signs. Im guessing it could be the accelerator pump on the carb, its an autolite 1100 and i just had it cleaned out, but the lines are still dirty.

Id appreciate it if you could post your opinion on whats wrong, im pretty young so I need someone that knows their mustangs.

Thank you

I can sympathize with you on this one. My son's 6 banger was cutting out on him after he started driving it for longer distances. There was a good amount of rust in the gas tank which sent crud and rust to the carb even though we had like two inline fuel filters on it. Had to replace the gas tank, blow out the fuel lines, and clean up the carb. After that the carb needed some adjusting but stopped cutting out on him. Long story short, check for rust in your tank and put on those clear inline fuel filters to see just how much junk you may sending to your carb...keep us posted on your progress!!!!

Ok cool, thanks. I have replaced the gas tank since it sat in a barn for over 10 years with gas in it, and it totally rusted all of it. Blowing out the line sounds good and putting an inline filter in does also.
