Keeping the rain out
Hi all,
I own a 72 Mach 1with water in the trunk after it has rained. I've changed the seals but that didn't do the trick. Does anybody know where the leak could be.
Also during the rain a lot of water gathers in the bottom corners of the rear window. Is there anything I can do about that.
Thanks,
Rob

Not sure about the trunk...
The "waterhole" as I call it is infamous. It's always pooled right there, and I don't think there's any way to fix it, without putting some bondo down so it doesn't pool...if you do that though, 1) it'll look weird, and 2) it will pool somewhere else

Your leak is probably in the corners of the rear window caused by an old weatherstrip. The permanent fix is to remove the rear window, repair any sheet metal rust or holes, apply some touch-up paint, put in a new weatherstrip and re-install the glass. Have a glass or bodyshop do the glass.
Definately use a car cover now and forever.

why don't you pull the back seat and take a look and see, could be coming from the bottom of the window seal or your trunk seal didn't fit properly. i bet it's coming from the bottom of the window where the roof and rear deck lid meet.
