Default 351c

I was wondering if it would be hard to swap a 351 c with a 302 would the transmission fitting be the same for it?

The bellhousing pattern is the same.

Are you wanting to pull out a 351c and put in a 302 or vice versa?

Sacrilege! You really want to go for less CID?

I think everything will bolt up. You may need a different bell housing to match the 302 flywheel or get a flywheel to match what bell housing you have. Different bell housings require different teeth numbers on the flywheel to make the starter work right. Just make sure you get the correctly balanced flywheel for your motor!

Edit: 302, 351W, and 351C have two different toothed flywheels depending on whether you have the big or small bell housing.

I was hoping you'd say that.

As stated above you will need to make sure your flywheel or flex plate match the size bellhousing you have.

The exhaust will need a minor tweaking, read new Y pipe if you have a single exhaust since the deck heaight is taller and therefore wider between the exhaust flanges.

You'll need radiator hoses to fit the application.

There will be incidentals but those will be the biggies.

Most 351 C use a 28oz flywheel and if you have the big bell housing you need 164 tooth version. Your harmonic balancer should also be 28 oz balanced. Also, you may already know this, but with a Cleveland, there are two types of heads (2v and 4v). They have different ports so you have to make sure you get the right intake and headers/manifold for the heads you have.
