Default Right hand drive mustangs

Hi this is my first post im looking at buying a classic mustang fastback, hopefully a 390GT with in the next year or two basicaly when ever i can find the money(and the car). I live in Ireland so i need to get a right hand drive(RHD) to keep insurance costs down. I've looked on E-Bay Australia but whats available is limited and im not sure if i can trust the descriptions of the cars. I have a few questions which if any could be answered i would be gratefull and would love to hear any other advice you have for a newbie.
1. Where is the best place to look for RHD?
2. Can i convert a LHD to a RHD? if so how?
3. Is there any way of telling if descriptions are correct?
4. Are there any good websites for finding out how to do work and upgrades on the car?
sorry for the long post and thanks for any replies

Welcome. As to right hand drive, either change the laws or wait until the guys from down under wake up and start posting. They don't have the conversion to right hand requirement anymore so it may be a lost art. I would think that the cost of making the conversion may be more than what you would save in insurance. I know there are some requirements about brake, turn and running lights that need to be delt with, but keeping a car in a 'correct' side drive is part of the mystic of owning and driving it. We see a few right hand drive here off and on and pretty much give a sigh of desire. Consider that part.

Thanks guys for the response's but unfortunatly i can't see which side of the road we drive on changing in my life time although its an excuse to take a trip over to australia then and see whats really out there some time soon. Atleast it's something to look forward to next summer after my work experience. Or i might try the U.K i found out that there was a plant that made them in devon. Does any one know what models were produced there or where i could find that information out?

jeff,

You are going to find it hard to get RHD there are few irish people on here that drive LHD cars and I am sure it will not push the insurance up that much for LHD compared to a non-factory converted RHD as that is a major mod

I might try and find out the insurance im just tinkin it should fall under the classic car catagory, shouldn't it so it wouldn't be that expensive for a LHD. it will just make overtaking tracktors a bit more difficult[sm=smiley36.gif]
