what carb?

I bet there's some dirt in the needle valve causing it to flood. Or the idle mix is out of adjustment. Pull the sight plugs out and check the float level with the car running. If gas comes pouring out, the needle valves have dirt holding them open. Might have someone else look so you dont dump gas everywhere.
Have you checked the plugs? A few minutes trouble shooting can save a bunch of $$

When you changed out the carb, did you put something in the line to keep debris out?
