Better right?

not bad I think

Old rear end. I'm just replacing the leafs and schackles but I don't have the new ones yet.

I think these were holding up about 10 lbs each maybe

at one point the wheel well was empty

Oh I also had a birthday party too.

Wow - shocks compressed all the way by hand. This was a worthy upgrade. Congrats...

I actually used one had to compress it against the ground and then just held it up with one hand to take the picture. It was a sad sight. No wonder I couldn't drive the thing on the freeway.

I am buying my new suspension this week. I am scared to see what mine looks like. I am sure the old pieces are WAY used and crappy. Hopefully next weekend it will all be new.

It's going to take all 3 days off my days off plus we worked late friday after work and I had a good partner with me. Be prepared and order your parts early. One of my boxes never showed up so I can't put my car back together until monday.

I just got done doing the same thing...except I went ahead and did disc brakes since I was going to have the entire suspension out anyway. Made taking it all apart very easy since I left the front spindles and drums attached to the a-arms. Just got it aligned today and it drives 1000 times better than it did. Did you take the entire rear end out just to replace the leaf springs? I sure hope not.

You did the right thing by upgrading your suspension (your old ones were all but done)...and very nice and impressed that you did it all by yourself.

What leafs are you getting? 4, 4.5, or 5 leafs?

Just to replace the leafs and the shocks in the back. Took all of ten minutes so I'm not too worried about it.

is that all? I figured it would have taken a bit longer.....oh well. I didn't do that for mine, but I did have a hell of a time getting a sized bolt out of the eye of one of the leaf springs. Had to cut it in 3 places.
