Is a Trac-loc an LSD or spool-like? I know that a Detroit Locker is not an LSD....

I'll tell you now: I told you so. Too much gear. The most I would go is 3.55's. I almost went with 3.73's and I am glad I didn't.

spool makes both wheels drive all the time...that's why they are not so good on the street because when you turn into the pub car park, the outside wheel wants to turn faster than the inside wheel so they sound like they are trying to rip tyres off the rim. But when you want both wheels to put power to the road (ie at the strip) they are great.

Trac-loc is a LSD using clutch packs to put power to the wheel with the most traction

Lockers are in between - they either disengage for corners (67M302's Powermax) or engage (Detroit Locker works this way i think) when traction is lost to one wheel - but tend to do so more violently.

Torsens and Truetracs are LSD, but work with gears instead of clutches. Stronger and more reliable - no slipping.
