Default 1965 top cowl

Hello
I am new to this forum.
What are my options for replacing my top cowl. I can not find a new one. I have heard of people using a 1967 cowl. or are used ones avalible and what type of condition are those in.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to our world. You are in the right place to get the answers you need to repair that classic Mustang. For the cowl repair, that is probably the most expensive and time consuming body repair you can make, but it is doable. Here is some information on how to do it.

I am restoring a 65, and replaced my lower cowl. I used the available reproduction for the 67-68 and it fit great. You'll have to remove a couple brackets, and re-weld your 65 wiper motor bracket in place, but it's not as bad as it sounds. The upper cowl panel is usually in much better shape than the bottom. You should be able to find a decent one at a mustang salvage yard. I wouldn't recommend the folks I have dealt with though...Good luck!

the upper and lower cowls are now available from places like NPD for the 65 and 66s but they are not cheap. I'm glad I waited to do mine
