need help identifing unknown big block

hey guys I have a old f-100 with a unidentified big block and I am tryin to figure out if it will work for my mustang build. where do I look on the block to identify it?[/align]

What year truck and a picture of te engine would help.

If it's a Ford engine, just take off the starter and look on the block for the casting number.

with pics we could tell you which engine family it is, with casting numbers we can tell you EXACTLY what it is
