Default Coil Spring help

on my '66 the coil spring isnt centered. the shock is almost rubbing the spring and its making a terrible squeaking noise. Im not sure what to call it but is there a "perch" that the spring sits on? and if so whats the proper name? my book calls it a 5355 but that means nothing to me...

any help is greatly appreciated
Luke

The spring should be sitting on the spring perch, also called a spring saddle, which also acts as a pivet point. Is it not there and just sitting on the control arm, or is it not settled on the perch correctly?

Compress the spring and move it..

If you have your front end jacked up, you won't have to compress the spring but just a tad to get it to move. Stick it back in the perch. *I'm wondering how in hell it got out of the perch*
