Default why do i have 2 different drum on my 9"

hey guys! i recently purchased a 72 convertable. its got the 9" rear, 351C, and a C6 in it, my question is when i was looking around on it i found that i have 2 different drums on it! the one with the yellow on it is the drivers side, i measured them the drivers one is 4 1/2" tall while the other is 3 1/2" tall they are both 10 1/2" wide and the shoes on the rear are 2" wide, is there a reason i have different drums or did someone just go junkyard shopping for something that fit?

You must check with the previous owners, all 27 of them.

When the car is fully assembled is there a visual difference in the track from the driver side to the passenger side?

If you say "yes, the wheel on one side is closer to the sheet metal" then it is a case of someone just throwing a drum on the car.

If you say "no, the wheels on both side visually appear to be the same distance from the sheet metal" then there are quite a few thing that might be going on.

1. Someone put a new quarter on and it wasn't 'exact' so the PO put on a larger drum to make up the visual difference
2. Someone put a 2.5 inch backing plates on one side but when they changed the brakes later they bought 2 inch shoes

yep the wheels are the same distance to the qtr. so it is probably just the case of a owner tossing something on just to same money.
