And there is a difference between a K code GT and a T code 6. From 64 to 66 there were 1 million Mustangs built. How many were K vs T? I'd be more inclined to leave a less common optioned pony alone.
My option would be to leave them all alone, and build them all to factory specs.
Thats your opinion, don't have to get all huffy about it. I myself would put a 5.0 with a blower in my 1965, if i had the money. I like my 289, but i am not going to count out ideas. I tend to think ideas are what makes it a hobby, and also where some really cool cars come from. I look at my car as a 1965 mustang coupe, nothing special about it,if i want a good performing 65, so be it. I just don't see how you can deffend keeping a car stock, its all opinions, theres no right or wrong answer. In the end, its still a mustang. If you like to drive around in 1965 technolgy, go for it. I grow up around EFI engines,so if i ever get my hands on one......

Right on Ricky Bobby! I love both the classics and the restomods!!! I think Soaring's classic and Dazecars' restomod are both awesome. I'd take either one and love it!

It's simple,,, Glen, Jim, and the rest of what I will call the "restoration crowd" will have to accept thatsome herehave, and others are going to put EFI's in classics, but they do not have to like it, or pretend that they like it,,, and they won't..... and no one should expect this from them. That is un-American....

Acceptance works both ways.... and the fact is, most of us ain't going to change too much after we reach a certain age unless we start taking mind altering drugs,,,,IMO, once a person has reached a certain age, they are due some latitude, and their opinions deserve to be listened to, even if we politely disagree... Age, andthe experience thatage brings, should have it's advantages and deserves a certain amount of respect.

Maybe I am just old fashioned.... but that is the way I see it, I say this after learning the hard way too many times... even on this very forum once or twice..

+1

But by being a snob about it can have a negative effect also. I'm not but 30 years old but I have a deep appreciation for both styles and won't snub the other. If going to a classic Mustang car show means having a bunch of guys insulting others creativity because its not original, I'll never go to another. All that attitude is going to accomplish is turning a whole young generation away from "original" classic cars.

Hahaha, I saw the title "Carb vs EFI" and thought "Aw, crap! Not this argument again!" But it wasn't what I thought. As far as IRS on a Mustang(or any car) if you plan on doing drag racing, then IRS=DON'T!!!! IRS is notoriously in the suck category on ANY car for getting out of the hole. Leaf spring setups are actually better(with the right stuff) for getting off the line than IRS is. That's why Ford went back to the live axle setup after they used IRS on some of the Mustangs. Anyway, just food for though. IRS is great for carving canyons though!!

One of the problems with understanding each other I think stems from age. I was an adult when the first Mustang was sold in April of 1964, so I may have a different outlook on why I think they should not be molested. Now, putting myself in some of your places, that would mean I would get a 1930 something Ford and do whatever I wanted to do with it. Well, guess what? I did. I built a 1932 Ford deuce coupe that had a Chevy engine in it. It had drag slicks on the back and no hood. So, looking at a mid 60's Mustang, most of you don't feel any need to keep them original just like I didn't feel any need to keep that 32 Ford original.

EXELENT POINT!!!!!!! From that perspective it makes so much more sense why you feel the way you do.
