I want to have (and by next month should have) a few things before I get on the highway.
1) 3 point seatbelts
2) disc brakes
3) trust in the car

What's the condition of your radiator hoses? A soft hose to the suction side of the pump (lower hose) willstart to collapse as the revs increase and will pinch off the flow. Less flow = hotter.
