My sixty six with pony interior was missing the chrome door escutcheons.I just got them in the mail-I cant get the handle back on-the allen bolt doesnt seem long enough now with the chrome piece taking up more space...is there a trick?
do I need a longer allen bolt? If so where do I get it?

Ford used a longer shaft control mechanismused with Pony interiors. You may have the short ones on your car and that's why the escutcheons were left off. You should verify that the body type code on your door data plate has a 'B' after it, as in 63B, 65B or 76B. NPD has the long shaft mechanism for $14.95 each.
