Default Quote for dip and E-coat

I have been searching for a place locally (New Orleans) found one about3.5 hours from me. They said $3500 for the body only and $5500 for body doors hood and fenders. That is for dip and e-coat. I've seen older posts around the internet reflecting prices closer to $2000. Has anyone gotten it done lately and can provide some comparative pricing. Seems high to me, and not worth doing to a plain 67 coup. If i wanted to spend that much I could probably find a nice rust free body and save my self the trouble.

Default RE: Quote for dip and E-coat

up in washington (Portland, Or) I found dipping the body only for $2000 plus I think doors and other things (Fenders) was $50 each. then I'd still have to take it to a shop to get a protective coating on it...

I figured the same thing. I'll do my best on my own and not worry about dipping it. besides your not going to cover every spot that gets dipped (think about that) so it will just introduce rust into another area. That's my opinion, hope that helps
