Take off everything and bring the body pannels with you to the stripper. The cost should be around the 500 - 600 range. Others on here have had their cars sripped and I think that is about what they paid. shop around a little

I would love to shop around, but I cant even find a place in Oklahoma to do it. Isthe harbor freight thing an option? Or should I try to go out of state if I need to?

harbor freight is a tool store, the blasterwasabout 130 bucks and you need an air compressor. It takes a while to do it and makes one hell of a mess. You need to be careful not to warp your panels when you do it also. Nice thing is though that you can say that you did it yourself.

that's pretty cool. So you think it's about 500 to have it blasted? Should I take the fendes, trunk lid and hood off, or can they do a pretty good job with all that attatched? I noticed yours is stripped down to it's skivvies.
TAKE IT ALL OFF!!!!! sorry, couldn't help myself. But really, take it all off- it's easier that way.

Yeah, I have a harbor freight right by the house. How long do you think it would take? Also, did you sand blast your car? Or media blast it? $130 sounds good. I already have the compressor. Plus, "Did it myself" sounds pretty cool.

I sand blasted. IT took me a couple of weeks with a couple hours here and a couple hours there type of job. the hardest part was scraping the under coating off. That took me a couple weeks in itself with a putty knife and a screwdriver. I dont know how a professional does but a sand blaster sucked at removing the undercoating.

We had our fastback blasted as a rolling chassis.

They blasted and primed EVERYTHING for 1500. Magnolia, Tx.

The only down side to media blasting is that media will always be falling out of places.

I will have my '66 Convertible soda blasted in a couple weeks. The initial estimate is $450, which can fluctuate depending on how much material is used.
