You could take the kick panel vents out, there is enough room for 6.5" speakers in there. I made a mounting plate that screwed to the sheet metal using the vent mounting holes, cut the speaker holes in the mounting plate, put some plastic "bass baskets" behind the speaker to keep moisture out and reinstalled the kick panel covers. They sound good, are hidden and you don't have to cut up your car. In the rear, you can get a steel package tray for fastbacks with non-folding seats which makes 6"x9" speaker install a snap. There is also a ton of room behind the rear quarter trim panels.
