shell rotella FTW when it comes to breaking in the motor, after i heard all the crap about additives being missing. i gotta wonder about the delvac and pennzoil diesel oil. if they both have the zinc and whatnot or if its just shell. i've always been a "yellow bottle" guy and would like to use pennz if possible
The zinc is leavingthe diesel oil as well. It won't work with the upcoming 09 emissions. Retailers wont want to stock two oils,, so out with the zinc.

It may be that it does not work with the 07 emissions, if so it is already gone,,,, just cant remember for sure, but I know after 08, the zinc is history for sure.
are you talking about the cj-4 oil if so it still has zinc just less not unless they are coming out with something new already but if you want zinc the buy stp 4cyl treatment or valvoline vr1 its got the zinc you want in it but as far as diesel oil goes its stil got zinc in it just less i was reading bout it on bob the oilguy forum, and this is from shell

i have to disagree with you GM has discontinued EOS so now its a rare and hot item to stock up on the stp 4cyl treat had a good amount of zinc in it though. and just for my $.02 i use DELO 400 in all of my engines it not only has zinc but moly aswell as some other goodys and i like the iso-syn technology but thats just me and to each his own

I stand corrected, didn't know the EOS was discontinued. Also didn't know Delo 400 has moly in it, have to remember that...

Seems like a lot of the hobby stock dirt track guys(which have to run flat tappets) like the Delo 400 and have no problems with it
