will a 260 bolt up to a c4?? we are thinking of retrofitting my bros falcon with a c4 instead of the 2 speed auto.

 

It will if you have the correct bell housing. IIRC all 260's use a 5 bolt bell.

 

what is "IIRC". where could i find the correct belhousing at?? the c4 came out of a 70 mustang 302. i know that 260, 289, 302, 351w are all the same family, so we figured the c4 would bolt up to it. however, like you proly know, the 260 never came with the c4. i wonder if advance adapters or someone makes a belhousing for it like you said??

ah maybe your right aamilo, i was still thinkn about the falcons. well, it must bolt up then, since you have it in your stang. you definatley wouldnt have the c6, so it must be the c4.

If the C4 you plan to use came out of a 70, the bell housing has six bolt holes to bolt it up to the motor. 260's and early 289's had five bolt holes. You can use the tranny but you'll need to find a five bolt bell. I've seen a couple on Ebay but they are rare.
