So what do you think makes a Sleeper car?

 

Looking stock and slow but able to eat Chevrolets like Cheeto's.

In general, just something that looks like crap and/or easy to beat, but then blows your doors off...

Exactly the reason I want to put a 289 down in my Metro

 

lol , what i kinda dislike is the non sleeper type ppl who put giant hood scoops for small engines as if they were monstrousities ...

I have someone here where i live who has a 68 with a 289 and a giant hood scoop about 8 inches tall .

 

Itruns faster than it looks/sounds. Like mine....it almost looks like it might not even run, and the exhaust is pretty quiet if I don't open it up.

 

if i put my exhaust bak on mine would be a sleeper bad primer job no hood....

 

dont forget if you are doing a galaxie or something, poverty hubcaps, or the ones that match the body paint of the car. white car + wheels and tiny exhaust pipes (to the untrained eye) and column shifter, under the hood paint after market heads black, teh block factory color, factory style air cleaner (gold) valve covers (gold) and maybe like blankets over the seat (to make it seem like youve got ****ty inteior)

 

Anything that looks like the Family Thruxter from National Lampoons Vacation that leaves you sitting at the light.

 

Pretty much what everybody else has said, looks slow, but is all go.
