Turn signal problem
Ok, we are about 2 days away from heading out to get the '65 registered, licensed and inspected. BUT, I came across a little problem with the right front turn signal light. Follow along with this and take notes if you cant keep up......When ever the headlight switch is in either the full off or full on (all the way in or all the way out), the right front turn signal light barely even comes on, to see it light up you have to remove the plastic lense cover and look at it really close. BUT, if I put the headlight switch in the PARKING lights position (half way out...or half way in, depending on how you look at it), the right front turn signal light works perfectly...nice and bright and flashing properly and when the turn signal is turned off, the parking light is full bright, no problems at all. The way I see it, it all boils down to a defective headlight switch because everything seems to work correctly in the mid-way position. Am I right and should I replace the switch or start chasing wires??
pull the lense and the bulb and compare the contacts the bulb makeagainst other side of the front,,,just went thru the same thing with rear lights,,,contacts had shifted by approx 30 degrees,,managed to 'JACK' the contacts around for the fix
When the headlight switch is in the half out position, does the rest of the lights work? If so, I would start chasing down a loose ground. At anyrate, a new headlight switch would'nt hurt anyway.
