Complete C3 to T5 conversion
well it all depends on who is doing the labor and what knowledge they have with mustangs. I know you need a new t-5 bellhousing and the t-5 tranny can come out of a fox body stang, i think
1600 is too low thats a junkyard t5 and a home made cross member probaly id look http://www.keislerauto.com/ford/mustang65-70.html and http://www.moderndriveline.com/ theres a few more out there tho.
I spent 3 grand, and thats on parts alone, but they're all the best parts. Rebuilt t5 from Texas Motorsports, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, hydraulic clutch kit, etc. I did the install my self, its not hard. If I were to do it over again I would just buy a kit from Modern Driveline, plus then you have their tech support.

I don't think the C4 tranny mount will work, you need to get one from someone like Modern Drive Line.
I bought the kit from them, about $3000 I think. It really isn't too hard to do, but get someone to help that has installed a clutch before. My buddy and I tried it, neither of us had done a clutch before, and I blew it, and had to do it again.

I think mine cost about $2000, and thats doing just about everything myself.
1. Used t5 with bellhousing and likenew FRPP King Cobra clutch...$500
2. Replace input shaft, 2nd gear, cluster gear, bearings, and general rebuild + s10 tailhousing (going into a Falcon) ...$800
3. Modern Driveline crossmember...$149
4. Modern Driveline clutch cable (now burned by ill-fitting headers)...$259
5. Hurst pro-billet Camaro shifter...$200
6. Incidentals (pilot bearing, bolts, oil, mount, etc)...~$100
7. Grand total....~$2,000
8. Future costs...(replace clutch cable, headers that actually fit, modify brand new exhaust to fit said headers, etc)....~$600 [:@]
It can certainly be done a lot cheaper, especially if you know how to fabricate and can find good used parts and are lucky enough that they are still useable.
