Window Tint
Thanks Knuckless,
I did not pay to have the tint done but I do have the receipt and it shows that the owner paid $250 to have the 4 side windows and the rear tinted. I would probably shop around in your area a little and see what you can find. I have been told that 3M is the best tint to use. At any rate, I would use the best materials that the tint shop uses and try to see at least one example of their work before choosing them. I would also probably try to choose someone who has some sort of satisfaction guarantee to put your mind at ease. I really dont think that tinting is a highly skilled profession but it is tricky enough that I would recommend having a professional do it over a DIY job that could prove to be a REAL PITA.
Sick Mustang, by the way! Mine looks black in the shade or at night but when the sun hits it, you can see that it is actually a deep metallic purple with a little red in it. It is probably not a color I would have chosen but I really like it--it is pretty unusual and catches the eye.

Some will say not to tint your classic but I think it all depends on the individual vehicle. When I bought mine, it had a 20% tint, which I really like. Not too light, not too dark. Plus, my tint is illegal in CA but I have not had any problems ...yet.
that is a really nice tint you have on your car. i have basicaly the same car but mine black, cant tell if yours in blue or not, and mine has all black interior so its hot in there during the summer. Im from new jersey and tint is illegal but since i always ride with my windows down because of the heat ill probaly get away with it. how much would it cost to get all my windows done with 20%?

Is all tint illegal in NJ?? That's rediculous.

If it were mine, I wouldn't tint them. I may be the enemy of fun
, butI just prefer the classics to be clear windows as original.
BTW, how is your paint coming? I've had mine back for a week and am about half way done putting it back together.

dodgestang, what tint % is that? That looks about the shade I would want IF I got mine done.
Jeff, my car is coming along very slowly, gonna be in the shop for a few more MONTHS
[:@] But the work is phenomenal so its worth every penny. I'll PM you.
Thanks everyone for the input! Keep the pics coming!

its a 30 or a 35%....but the opposite of what everyone here means when they say 5% or 20%....confusing as all heck sometimes.
Limo black is 5%....so it blocks 95% of the lights
To use the same limgo that makes my tint 65-70% because it only blocks 30-35% of the light.
Clear as mud right

Oh ok yeah I'm used to the scaling everyone else is saying, like 5% for limo. That looks really good though, I don't want much tint, especially for how light of blue my car is.
I'm still thinking, have a few months to decide

my brother-in-law worked at a glass shop in high school. They always used Simple Green to clean off the old tint.
