Default HOW TO... paint chrome

I have a chrome export brace & monte carlo bar and would like to know what is the right way to paint over chrome? I want to paint them black before I install them.

Scratch them up with sandpaper say 400, then 2k primer and paint.

I asked for chrome paint a while back and did some research myself as well..here is what i came up with as the best chrome paint, a bit dear tho..

Holy Crap!!!!!!!!! That stuff is SOOOO high. I'd just buy a black one or do like67 evil eleanor says.

i just bought the chrome ones about 2months ago and decided i want to go with black. so you recommend scuffing them up w/ sandpaper? (400 will do just fine?)

yes but first wash them with some dawn dish soap to remove the grease wipe it down with wax and grease remover then sand with 400 then id prime it with an acid etch primer then 2k then make sure to let the acid etch to flash off before applying the 2k then scuff the 2k after its cured and top coat etc using
