If anyone needs an 8.8" rear I have one available its out of an explorer with 3.73:1 gears and 31spline, . its in great condition. Although it is not compatable with 67's (too short)

Actually most Rangers have 7.5" rears. Explorers are all 8.8". A 9" from a 67-70 Mustang or Cougar will bolt right into your 66 but it will be a tad wide. You can make up for it with a different wheel offset. I put a 9" from a 69 Cougar inmy 66 back in the early seventies and it worked out fine.

Excellent info.

I called 4 yards and they all didn't have anything left from the Broncos which says something for their demand.
