Default RE: 200 to 302 Engine Swap Question

ORIGINAL: 66 PNY

I spoke to the previous owner to confirm the information he gave me before I bought it. But he changed all the 4-lug drum brakes to 5-lug V-8 style and he wasn't sure if the parts were from the 66 or 67 model. He added the 8" posy in the rear also. He says that front end from the ball joints out are all new within a bout a years time frame. Besides the springs what other major issue should I be concerned with. I will also be getting a 5-speed transmission. I have the opportunity to buy a 302 now for 275.00.
Dude, most of the hard stuff is already done, with this stuff already done, the rest of the swap is a snap...

Everything needed to complete the swap is strictly "bolt on", I recommend these engine mounts:

They are a little expensive, but by the time you get all the newparts to make up stock mounts they are not so expensive. They fit great, are a very clean installation, and everything you need is included with the exception of the 4 7/16 bolts that hook the mounts to the engine.

In our 66 swap we have changed every single chassis component, but you don't really need to do this, especially since you already have V-8 Brakes and 5 lug hubs, spindles, etc. The tie rod and the tie rod ends need to be V-8 style as well... I have these brand new if you need, we bought them and did not use them because we decided to go to rack and pinion steering.

You will need radiator, engine mounts, bell housing, clutch, a method for dis-engaging the clutch, (V-8 z-bar setup, hydraulic, or cable setup), transmission, trany cross member for brand and model tranny, driveshaft, etc.

You will probably find that you need new leaf springs, as the increased power of the V-8 will tend to "wrap up" the axle and make it hit the floor at the u-joint. new heavier front springs will make your car handle a lot better.

I am sure I am leaving something out here,,,, but I think I got most of it....
