AOD Crossmember
I plan on making my own crossmember for the AOD transmission in my 69. Can anyone tell me if it has the same drop as the original crossmember.
I know it is set back 2" further than the original c transmissions

Here's one I made for a Maverick. Three pieces of steel welded or riveted together.
Set the tranny height so it clears the floor and float the pieces into postion trimming as reqiured. I used an early mount. The height is not an issue. FWD and AFT, getting clearance around the oil pan is what you have to deal with. And make room for exhaust pipes too.

Thanks! That is what I am looking for. Something I can replicate but doesn't neet to look pretty. Although it's not too bad looking.

Thanks, I know about the bolt on ones but I didn't want to spend that kind of money when It can be home made at a fraction of the cost.
