Default Window!

So my driver side regulator has been marginally functional for a while now, and today the track the window rides in vertically....the wheels busted off, so now when I try to roll the window up and down it flops all over the freakin place. It's either all the way up, or all the way down, no in between. It's a total pain to roll up and down now too. I guess it's finally time to fix it

It was really easy for me. I bought an aftermarket unit and had the old one out and the new one in with ease. It does take some thought. It took about an hour. Make sure to use lithium grease on the rollers. Clean all the grease out of the old tracks. It will be one of the best repairs you'll have done to your car.

I'll be glad when I can roll my window up and down with ease

actually, the hardest part of this job is pulling the door panel and levers off. Here's a break down of the inner window components

We had the same problem. We took it to probably 4 different people to have it fixed since we don't have the tools or space to do it ourself, nobody could get it quite right. We did finally find someone in town that worked at our ford dealership for 23 years in the 60's through the 80's, he finally got them working properly. He told us the glue in style windows were so problematic they would get a car in to have them fixed and they would grab the windows from the pervious car that came in, put those in the car, then take the ones that broke and glue the brackets onto those and set them aside for the next car.
