Default Copper Header Gaskets

Whoes got'em and what what do you think of them?

I have installed one set on my son's truck about 6 months agowith great results, put a set on the 66 today. It was an interesting install with the 351 in the 66.... But I do know that it can be done with not much trouble. I can get the header out by lifting first one side of the engine and then the other about a half inch...

I used 'em before, not bad. Now I'm usinga Fel Pro, the one that AFR reccomends I think? I like it, don't have to retorque, seals great, capscrews don't back out and fall off driving down the road

Here's another alternative to consider (I just learned about them tonight)

They will also be developing their new Phuzion MSL head gasket (pronounced "FUSION") for us, which are used for high boost applications. The Phuzion head gaskets utilize a gas filled o-ring, which eliminates the use of copper head gaskets and the necessity to o-ringing the block, which is very labor intensive. Copper head gaskets seep coolant, where as the Phuzion MLS gaskets do not. While the gaskets are not cheap, it’s a great solution where a thin gasket is required, or for high boost applications.

List price for the MLS gaskets will be around $150 per gasket, and the Phuzion gaskets will be around $200 each. I believe the gaskets will be offered exclusively through Classic Inlines, as we are paying for the tooling.

I think these guys are talking about HEADER gaskets, not HEADgaskets.
Anyway,
Im using std type metalmesh?? type gaskets, and the area pain in myA55. They leak even when new, the bolts come loose.I assume lots ofpeople have this problem. Are these copper gaskets supposed to fix this?
67mustang302, the FelPro ones you are using, are they speccial Fel Pro?Becuase I think I've used Fel Pro in the past without luck.
I have seen some gaskets advrtised, which are thinker and have better compressability, there called Remflex orsomething, but I havent been able to find them.

I'd have to look it up, but I think it's a newer Fel Pro design that they come up with to overcome the shortcomings of the standard paper type. It's similar in construction to the MLS type head gaskets, only for exhaust manifolds. It's a heavy duty fiber/paper like material on both sides for crush/conformity that also allows movement without gasket damage, but with a steel layer in the middle for strength. They seal well(but I also took a file to my header flanges to make sure each one was flat and would seal well) and don't loosen up. I like them even better than the copper ones I think. And since it has a fiber/paper facing that allows movement, it doesn't damage the mating surfaces, especially with aluminum heads
