Default Quick Steer Kit

Has anyone used the quick steer kit offered by Mustangs Plus (and I assume others as well)? Since I'm rebuilding my entire suspension with new parts should I make this addition now?

BTW, mine is a '66 and will soon have it's new 302. The suspension kit I bought is from Laurel Mountain and is complete front and rear (shocks, springs, bushings, control arms, etc.).

I installed the kit, it's great on the road but makes parking tough. Really tough. You won't need to go to the gym for a workout. Damn near gives me a hernia every time I try to parallel park. The straining loosens the bowels so be careful. But I still recommend it, get the rollerized idler as it helps a little.

This is for manual steering correct? What is the purpose? Does it help with steering "ease" when at lower speeds?

They were originally designed for GT 350's?

Sorry for all the questions, I am curious and could not find any info anywhere else.

I would think a quick steer kit hurts the effort required to steer because you have less mechanical advantage kinda like a quick steer steering box. This would be worse at low speeds like in a parking lot like Oxnard said. I would think it move the wheels more per turn of the wheel, so response is better but effort is worse.

thats what i have on my 65 from mustangs plus with power steering gear box.but with manual gearbox it would not be as hard to turn as mine so if you want just a little quicker just find power gearbox i think ford made like 2 or 3 ratio's for them all you need to do is just change pitman arm to the other boxs.just make sure to keep the pitman arm and idler arm the same length!!now on mine its not that hard to turn but i have skinnies on the front to so that helps
good luck
