My box is on the front side of the right shock tower as shown. The coil is in the same spot on the left shock tower and the tach adaptor is on the back side of the right shock tower.

If I were to do it again and didn't already have the MSD box and tach adaptor, I would've just gone with some sort of ready-to-run distributor and called it a day. Performance is still very good, wiring is much easier and the engine bay is a lot cleaner.

Good luck!
Jeff

I put my MSD box in the interior of the car, where the heater box used to be. The coil should be placed as close the distributor as possible without introducing heat to the coil. The factory put the coil on the intake manifold on the driver's side.

My box, noise filter and tach adapter are where the battery used to be (now in the trunk). The coil is attached to the front of the head.

When I built my '71 Chevelle, I put the MSD box under the front seat, out of sight.

On my current project, my '66 coupe, it will go under the dash or somewhere else out of sight. I'll probably put the coil on one of the shock towers, I don't know for sure yet. (LONG way away from having to worry about that! )

My coil is in the stock position, with the MSD 6 box on the right shock tower. I also have the MSD distributor.
