Default 351 stroker

I am looking to build a 393 stoker for my friends '83 Mustang, the car has a 351 in it now but has spun a couple of rod bearings and we will be using a different block.Right now we are looking to buy an Eagle street-strip complete rotating assemble. We want to know ahead of time if there are any clearance problems with the cam, as I want to use a kit with H-beam Eagle rods.We expect to have to do some notching of the block. I wonder if anyone has used these kits and what kind of glitches we may run into.

Look up Full Auto, he knows a lot about it, and sells the kits as well.

Using H-Beam Rods you should not need to clearance the block at all. We did not need to on our 408. We had no cam issues, although we used a reduced base circle cam as part of the roller conversion.

I do not think that the cam will be an issue with a 393.

The H beams will be much more compact than I beams. In our application I beams would have required clearancing.

only chevy blocks have cam issues. we do strker crate engines so I know for a fact we have done stock 351w blocks up to 432 ci. with no cam problems only notching clinders.

Thank you for the info. Your under hood is great. I love these forums, I have been getting info from the 460 Ford forums about putting together a 429 for my new 69 fastback drag car, and I am always impressed how Ford guys are so willing to share info and help each other out. I have been running a 66 coupe with a 302 at our local drag strip for over 10 years now, and I have a blast beating the **** out of big block chevys. Keep up the good work dude. If you have interest in Hawaiian drag racing, check out mrp.org (Maui Raceway Park) You will see my name at the top of the Summit Pro points standings. john

Thanks for the info. I build a lot of engines, mostly chevys (as they always need it), and 302's for my own Mustang, but other than some stock rebuilds I haven't done very many 351's, but I'm learning fast how to make good power. john
