Default calling all auto crossers

Last weekend I drove the nordschleife in a vw golf gti this weekend very fun, some of the cars there were amazing a sunbeam tiger with 351w stroked to 428 which to change the spark plug needed to remove steering column, 2 porsche carrea GT lots of 911 GT3 and others lambo diablo and a few masarati's and ferrari's. So now I need to take the stang and quite frankly america cars don't handle espeically 4w year old ones!!! so i need and want to improve her so far I have:

koni shocks
export brace
monti carlo bar
roller pearchs
front discs with dual master

and to be fitted
620lb 1"drop fronts springs
5 leaf mideyes leafs

what else would you recommend I am not wanting coil over but I want handling and brakingis there anything you guys would add?

Cheers

Rack and pinion steering FTW.... You may be amazed with the results, especially with your proposed mods. IMO these mods are right on track to make the most of the R & P..

Oh yea,,, a good front sway bar is a must.... We also purchased a rear sway bar but we have not put it on. It seems to do well even without it though.

I forgot the new sway bar it is sitting waiting to be put on I am think off going round the outside of carrosal though!!! As for R+P I am tempting as I know the power steering at the moment has no feel but it ain't cheap especially given my lack of mech. experience but will fit the mods above and then check the bank balance!!! may be an old bmw 325 would be cheaper!!!

My son installed the Flaming River R & P setup on his 66. This was pretty much his first automotive project with any real difficulty, he did it without issue. It is almost entirely a bolt up project, with there only being some mild"fabrication" hooking up the steering shaft.

The advantage is precise steering with no bump-steer. After driving the carpost conversion, there is really no doubt that the stock steering setup pretty much sucks...

I wish I could express how much better the car drives with our mods, but words can not do it justice. It just ain't the same car.

Your mods without the R&P should make a huge difference. The springs and such firm up the platform, and should practically eliminate the body lean that takes so much away from the handling.

Shelby drop should be a requirement. Aftermarket control arms and subframe connectors wouldn't hurt either if you're going to be runnning it around the Nurburgring.

I would put my money in front and rear sway bars with the Shelby drop. Good shocks is a must. Also the front alignment will make a big difference in the twisties.

Probably the biggest contributor to good lap times is a set of good Autocross tires. I use Kumho's on my RX7 and I have yet to be beaten by a ZO6. Hoosiers are way too expensive for little gain.

Also, try to get the most negative camber out of the car you can get. Kumho recommended 3 degrees. I have had also good sucess with toe out (maybe 1 degree, helps you change direction quicker).
