69 you have a very good point.He could be hearing is voltage regulator cuz my mine made a horrific sound when it went bad or when the solenoid went bad that made a grinding sound too.Especially with the starter stopping..sounds like a possibility
You'll have to explain how a buzzing solonoid/Vreg can make a sound like a starter grinding. I'm at a loss.

youre kidding right.I didnt say it makes the starter make a sound but that if one of those is bad they will make a loud "grinding" like sound.
