verifying a true GT???
Its a 66 mustang. supposedly a GT. I know almost all of what a GT consists of and It has all of it (A code, quick steering, fogs, badges, stripe, etc) except Im confused about the dual exhaust hanger part. On this car there is a hole and when I stick my finder in I can feel the suppor towards the back of the car. I didnt feel towards the front of the car but I heard it is suppose to be towards the front of the car not the back. Whats right? The hole is also on the bottom of the frame and I heard its suppose to be on the side of the frame. Is this a GT?

Tip #1 should nail it for you, including the brake line routing. If you can get the rear seat out, check for the reinforcing plates on the floor for the hangers. Not the little vertical plates the studs use but the large sheet metal one. Good luck.

yes if the reinforcing plate is toward the REAR of the car then its a gt. and yes its supposed to be on the bottom. also check in the front radiator support for two holes for the fog lamp wiring. pull up the carpet and rear seat and if there is two bolts under the butt of each seat on each side then thats the dual hangers = gt.
