ok, so im sure theres some info on this somewhere on here, but my computer is not cooperating lately and doesnt want to let me search anything...

anyway, im just curious about five speeds in 73 mustangs.does the dirive train have to be shortened, adaptions made stuff like that. mabeye just a list for a three speed to five speed conversion ona 73 302. the only one ive heard much about is the tremecs

look at http://www.moderndriveline.com/ he sells t5 swaps for them also theres a few others.I believe you have to shorten your driveshaft if you get a kit it comes with everything to put it in.

The swap is a piece of cake, especiall if you already have a 3spd. Even if your driveshaft can't be shortened, you can get a new one for less than $200.

I've got a TKO 600 in mine and it was a bolt in operation, you will need adifferent crossmember.I bought mine from a member of another forum so the tranny came with an aluminum driveshaft and it was the same length as the driveshaft already in the car. The TKO came from Darkhorse performance with a shortened input shaft so I was able to use the stock bellhousing without and sort of adapters. This is the single best mod I've do to the car, besides switching from an FMX to a toploader.

You would take it to one that does driveshafts. Not all machine shops do, but it shouldn't be hard to find one.
