From you signature, it looks like you are on your way to setting up your car nicely for autocross. Autocross is a great way to find the limits of your car in a safe setting.

If you really want to set your car up for good handling, I would stick with the 289/302 engine sizes. 2bav8's 347 stroker 302 probably puts out similar numbers to a built 351 and probably weighs 150 lbs less. Like Norm said, early model Mustangs are already front end heavy. The more weight you can remove from the front of the car, the better balanced it will be.
Here are some weight saving / moving suggestions:
- move the battery into the trunk
- aluminum water pump
- aluminum intake manifold
- aluminum cylinder heads
- aluminum radiator

As for your classification, post all of the modifications to your car and the future modifications you are planning on making.

Default RE: autocross?

I was planning on a battery relocation, but my primary focus at the moment is to get the car in functional/condition. [8D] Any suggestions as to where to get a good aluminum radiator? Also, I'm hoping that with a larger CI I will be able to get some more torque, but yes I'm definately going to consider going with the smaller 302 with lighter heads and all. Thanks for the tips guys. See you @ the course!
