Default 1966 Hood options

I was wondering what different hoods are available for a 1966 Coupe.
I'm not concerned about it being a correct 1966 hood. I just want something different but not too outragous.

I've seen Shelby style & cowl inductionhoods or I could add a scoop to my stock hood I guess.

What I really love are the 1967 Deluxe hoods with the 2 rear facing vents about midways of the hood. Does anybody make anything like that for a 1966.

Would a 1967 hood fit a 1966 & if not would it be possible & practical to modify it to fit?

you're seeing the same thing I am. I too have a 66, and would really like to see a hood with the cowl off a fox body, that's more pointed at the nose and molds into the hood rather then thechevy style cowl that's more rectangular with hard edges. i also believe your idea isa good one. Good luck on finding one. I honestly think I'll end up machining and welding my own hood, long before i find one.

I know what you mean, I wanted one of those when I had my 66 but I could not find anybody who made it for the 65-66 body style. To adapting it, from what I understand the 67 hood is a little longer than the 66. They should be the same width because the unibody for both cars are the same. Try to go walk in a part supplier warehouse, I know NPD will let you. Go there and measure the 67 hood and measure your hood. If it is in fact longer and you have decent metal working skill I imagine you could take out an inch or two with no one noticing after painting it. If its the same length, no worries.

Its the hood I'm going to swap out my stock hood for on my 67 now, so good choice in hoods.

Could cut the vents out of one and weld them in your hood not easy but can be done.
