Default 9 inch splines

How do I know how many splines I have in my axle? I have a 1970 mach 1 with a 9 inch rear end.

28 most likely, unless you have a 428 CJ, IIRC

28 is the most common unless someone has changed out the 3rd member and got different axles and upgraded to 31's..
