1967 Mustang Exhaust and headers
Hi, It's been a headache trying to find the right exhaust and headers for my 67' Mustang coupe S-code. Everywhere I go I never find anything for my engine. I'm looking for a nice sound, nothing too loud unless I really step on it. I found a video on youtube that it's pretty much what i'm looking for. http://youtube.com/watch?v=is-twbc5W...ature=related. I saw a mad cat headers on ebay that I don't know if I should get. The Item number is 110196923974. I also don't know what they mean by FE or CC. Doesn't it really matter? I also don't know what size exhaust I should go with. I was thinking about going 2.5" on it. What do you guys think? I want to buy the product only once. Thanks
When you find some headers that fit let me know. I always heard you had to do alot of cutting to get headers on a 390. There is not that much room to begin with. As far as exhaust, I went with the stock 2in. h-pipe and increased it to a 2.5 at the mufflers. The 2 in h-pipe fits very well, it is the intermediate pipes that will need bending several times. Summit racing sells 2.5 tailpipes that fit well and are mandrel bent too. Put some offset inlet / center outlet mufflers on there and you are in business.
