140ish in my '71 wasn't too bad. Nothing like cruising at 140 for a few miles to get the smiles going. Course, '71/'73 Mustangs are a little more aerodynamic than a '68.

120 mph in my '65 is pretty sketchy, and even at that speed I was pushing it.

i got pulled over for double over in my heavily modified 351w, and it terrified the **** out of me ( the speed) not the cop. the cop just pulled me over, I rolled down my window he walks up and says "ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?"

Lost my license for 3 monthes.

(I was on a closed road, not street racing. :-p)

How scary the ride and unsafe it is depends on how each individual car is set up. Some old Mustangs and Camaros that are set up to race can easily do 160-200mph and be very steady. Stock suspension in a street car certainly will be a hairy ride once you start getting into triple digits. Beat suspension is just plain dangerous, in any car.

I have a stock 351w with a 3 gear fmx tranny. I cant get past 115. So I dont know if thats due to the gearing or the trans. Feels like the car has still got a ways to go after it hits 115 but it just stops. I got my original 351w up to about 120 before it blew on me. Dropped another 351w in it. Now im saving up for a 432 stroker from T&L. But besides for that. Still curious why the car stops at 115. Dont know my gearing but still curious if its cause the tranny or gears.

Had my 68 coupe up to 120once. 351w, C-4, 2.79 gears. In a word, scary. I've never had the urge to attempt that one again (I like being alive too much ). That said, The only way I would even think about doing something like that, would be in a vehicle built specifically for that purpose. However, there aren't too many salt flats in Michigan, so I don't see that happening any time soon.

Edit: Removed a few 'again's.
