Thanks, you can feel good knowing your nice engine bay had me spending some time looking for those fasteners over the weekend. Lowe's didn't have the bolt head as large as yours... and ebay doesn't have them either. I am going to check McMaster Carr. Is it the washer that you use in conjunction with the screw that gives it the profile that it has? They about an inch wide?

Are your counter sunk washers solid or voided behind them? A solid counter sunk washer runs between $6-18 a piece on mcmaster-carr and grainger, sheez! The voided ones are about 6 bucks for 100, but I would think the voided washer wouldn't hold as well due to less surface contact area. Possible for a close up shot?

James-Thank you very much for your technical assistance and all the pics. It is a great help. Just wish I was as mechanical and had the equipment to do all you do. You need to go into the Mustang fabrication business. Thanks again.

Another question. Now that I have my engine in I had to remove my strut braces. At the last minute installed a TrickFlow intake that had very long tubes and an MSD distributor and cannot find any strut/monte carlo bar combo that looks like it will fit except the ones with heim joints and small round tubes that look very flimsy. Any suggestions?

The TrickFlow Chef's Hat is very wide. I tried fitting one on mine and as I recall was too wide even for my modified braces shown below. I widened the back brace from 12" to 18" to clear the Explorer intake, and I think the trickflow was even wider.

Default Here's a pic.

I hope the attachment comes through. I have problems with attachments. If not, I will try again so you can see what I am up against. How do the braces with the heim joints work? Do they not flex at the joints? Some of them will fit but I am skeptical. I can even make a set of those and they look good. I live near Roush/Yates and can get any parts like that from them. Thanks.
