Agree with above.
I was fortunate in that my driveshaft did not have to be shortened when I swapped my 3-spd for a T-5 (some of the old ones like mine do not require cutting).
A bit of advice I was given regarding measuring before cutting the driveshaft - make sure you double check the measurement once it is "on the ground" (i.e. off the lift) - the car may flex on the lift and the truest measurment is obtained when it is "weight-bearing" on the ground.
FWIW, the T5 mod is great. That overdrive gear is heaven since 90% of my time was previously spent in 3rd gear anyway! I wish I had done years ago!
