Default Fuel Injected....

...351W anyone???

My carb is extremely tempermental especially in the cold weather. Plus I think it would be kinda cool to be able to plug my computer into my car and stuff. Just kickin around ideas for a project this summer. Has anyone ever done this to a Windsor motor? Mine is a 408.

The hardest and most $$$ part would be finding a non truck upper and lower intake that will fit under the hood. A better alternitive would be to go with TBI

The problem with going with a TBI unit is comming up with an EFI computer. One option would be to purchase a megasquirt kit and then you can easily run the pictured TBI

How bout scavanging parts off a pickup or something?Would that TBI carb looking thing pictured work with a regular intake manifold? Would the truck parts not fit under my 3" cowl hood?

I still don't think the truck set up will fit. Some Cobra and police interceptors came with the 351 upper and lower intake that will fir in a car but they are hard to find and expensive.

The TBI unit mounts on any 4 barrel intake so there is less to change out. I had never herd of hillborn style fuel injection so I looked it up, WOW it better work well for $6K. Something else to consider may be holly's projection system, probably be the easiest.

Hey Daze, shouldn't that be "CFI" since "TBI" is a GM term?

David: you need to decide how much work you want to put into it and if you want a multi-point setup or not. To tell the truth, getting your carb properly working will be less work and probably gain the most benefit. If you do decide to go with TBI then Megasquirt and a junkyard GM TBI unit would be relatively inexpensive. If you want a multi-point setup, then get out your pocketbook.

BUSTED!!!![8D][8D][8D] I new that TBI was a "GM" term but I couldn't remember the Ford term. Serves me right for being such a stickler about the whole limited slip thing
