Default Heat Riser Placement

Its time for a new manifold for the 351W, i like the edelbrock performers low rise design but am stumped when it comes to the placement of the heat riser, are they expecting me to do away with my electric choke?

Any solutions to this problem, could i just block it off, im a little hairy on just what the heat riser does, maybe someone could explain in detail please

Thanks everybody

Anyone, would blocking the heat riser have any adverse affect on the engines operation while cold or hot?

It would be a pig when cold.

You think Edelbrock would see that their performer intake and 600cfm carb with an electric choke wouldn't work together, because the heat riser is directly where the electric choke sits, not smart if you ask me....
