Default need some ideas

so my 1970 coupe which some one befor me tryed to restore but like fiberglass more than metal. so long story short alot of fiberglass and undercoating. im replacing door skins, both quarters, outer wheel houses, trunk drop offs, tail light panel, and trunk lid, hood and one front fender. i havent tore up the floor yet but i can bet that its not pritty, after the body works done i plan on taking it out.

my question is how far does the car need to be tore down to put it up on a rotisorie to have the botton and front fire wall and frame rails. do i have to toatly gut the interrior or can i leave such things as dash, front windshield and rear glass? i really want the undercoating and fiberglass gone!! some one help me out.

honestly if youre doing that much to a coupe. Why not get one a lil better condition to start. No disrespect if its like your first car or been in the family or something...If I were putting a car on a rotisery i would strip everything that would come off.Just makes it easier and a much cleaner job in the end.

If the floor pan(s) needs replaced, then why not start with them. These are unibody cars. Your frame rails, rockers, inner fenders needs to berepaired when the cat is level,if not, then the rest of theassembly will be off. This is especially true for verts. Once you have made these solid, andit can support its self, then you can bolt it to the rotisserie. I would seek the measurements to keep things in order.

Might as well take the glass out now, going the repaint anyway, right. Plus when its on its side on the rott. you can walk through the windshield to get inside. If you are really restoring it, gut it. Hate to get it done and find out you have bad wiring or something. It doesn' take that long to tear one down, going the other way is a different story!

If you need to do the firewall how the cowl look that is the worst place for rust on these old stangs if it needs work you will have to tave the windshield out to fix it. you can leave the dash in but I would take all the gages and what not out to make it easier to get to the firewall. As far as I know you can leave the rear glass in unless you're going to be puting a new headliner in. It sounds like you PO must have learned body work from my PO. I found fiberglass covering a big portion of the floor and almost the whole trunk he even pop riveited a license plate to the floor where the drivers feet would be siting in the car.
