Default Converting to electronic ignition

I've got the 289 all rebuilt and almost ready to install, I installed a later factory electronic Distributor from a mid 80's 302,
Now I'm in the proses of cleaning up and repainting the engine bay,
the wiring looks pretty bad so I'm going to give a shot at rewiring it,
I know that being I am converting from 6 cyl to v/8 I might have some changes to do. so does anyone know where there any tech pages that has the wire schemtic for using factory elect.dist, and a v/8 conversion?to a '66 coup.I have already got the ignition module with wire plugs, Name brand "Wells"
1 plug has the red & white wire while the other plug has 4 wires out
into 6 wires on the recieving plug?
any help would truly appreciated....

make sure you get a blue strain module, 76-80 duraspark, get a 76-80 ford truck dist as they have a better curve and here are the wiring diagrams

or eliminate the duraspark box and replace it with a crane or msd ignition box. its only 2 wires from the dizzy to the ignition, and the ignition box hooks right up to the coil, and the battery & ground.

I'd stick with the Duraspark box. Just a personal preference. The white-tabbed box retards the timing during the cranking mode and that came in handy in my application and really aided in being able to run more initial advance.

I forgot to mention that as well, most aftermarket ignition boxes that are controllers can be used instaed of the duraspark, in my case I have both with the same harness/plug so if one fails I pop the hood and plug in the other one.

Thanks Folks!
exactly thedrawing I am looking for,
I have a Question concerning the wiring from the ign.box I have?
where the White & Red wire come out of the socket/plug and the receiving socket the wires are reversed? unless they cross somewhere
inside the socket the wires look as though the red connects to the white.. and white to the red ???? or should I simply just cut the socket
connector off and start from a pigtail?
Thanks again...

if your talking the dist wire sometimes they are reversed, it will run either way but it will reall retard timing and you will have to add major initial timing to run. Check timing after installed and reverse wires if that occurs.
