melting plug wires

the headersthat i have give small area for the plug wires has anyone ever melted a wire before

Yep,,,, It sucks...

I have found that the cut to fot wires can allow for a little more in the way of "creative routing" to avoid the hot spots.

Loom them so they don;t touch. Consider jet-coating the headers (best solution over-all) or using heat wrap for them (bad - traps moisture/induces corrosion). Or find a heat wrap that the wires could use...
