Hi !

I would build me a 65/66 when i get one for daily drive, but with an Inline6 (Fuel is about 7.08 US$ a gallon here in Germany)

in 66 they have had Snow and ice too. When the car has a good drivetrain, a good Rust Prevention, a good heater and a good Saftey-interior (Belts, seats, maybe a small cage) it can be a great DD. I go in my Buisiness for about 40.000 Miles a year, and why not drive in a great car?

Just so you know, my girlfriend went to WWU (which is where I'm assuming you're going..) and they salt the **** out of the roads and there are hills everywhere.. in the winter, you aren't going to get around very well. And unless you pay extra and live in a dorm close to a covered parking area (only one dorm, and I believe it's upper classmen..), you'll be parking your car outside in the rain/snow.

TBH, not a good idea. If anything, when winter rolls around, send your baby home or pay for storage.. or it will get effed up.

Fortunately they don't salt the roads around here due to environmental concerns. Instead they lay down lava rock, which can help quite a bit, but when the snow melts some of the intersections turn into freakin gravel deathtraps! [:@]And driving in the snow isn't that difficult if you know how and have a car capable of doing it. In my case, snow rated tires and a locker gets me through even the worst of the winter weather we have around here(mostly).

Once our car is done it'll be the wife's daily driver. Mostly highway (I295) driving to and from work. As has been said.. these cars back in their first days were used year round so why not now? I grew up in the Canadian northeast with snow, ice, black ice, salt, sleet, rain, bad roads, etc and they drove these cars 40 years ago up there in it all.

I drive my coupe it isn't raining or hauling something. That one speed wiper motor is a killer. If something does break down, at least you have a chance of fixing it yourself!
