Default coil springs

hey fellas, im in the process of putting springs under my car ,,the original stockers are about 2 inches taller than the new ones ,new ones are stiffer also ,this tells me the car will sit a bit lower ,,now my question of concern is with the a-arm at full droop, the new spring just sets right in ,with a little bit of slop!,,with the way the car is set up ,,(to lift the front end )are the springs going to pop out?,,is there a type of clamp made to secure the spring at full droop?just wondering?i do need to get the urethane cups yet ,but just curious if anyones been through this?..thanks

Default RE: coil springs

It is not uncommon for the new coils to fit in without having to compress them. It is odd that they are a full two inches shorter. But they are probably sbustantially stiffer than your old ones and will only minorly change your ride height. They wont pop out either because when you lower you car back down it will hold them tightly in place. If you are still not happy though you can put in a one inch polyurethane coil spring insulator they are about twenty bucks that is supposed to retain your original ride height.
